STEP 1

Disable Video and Audio Autoplay on the Home Screen

By default, hovering on your home screen for just a few seconds triggers full-screen video trailers and blaring audio. This hogs Wi-Fi bandwidth and slows down older sticks.

          Settings > Preferences > Featured Content > Allow Video Autoplay: OFF

          Settings > Preferences > Featured Content > Allow Audio Autoplay: OFF

STEP 2

Enable "Match Original Frame Rate" for Cinematic Motion

Most theatrical movies are shot at 24 frames per second (fps), but your TV screen runs at 60Hz. Without frame matching, Fire TV forces a "3:2 pulldown" which introduces subtle micro-stutters during panning shots.

          Settings > Display & Sounds > Display > Match Original Frame Rate: ON
        

Availability depends on the Fire TV model, app, content, and TV. The display may briefly go black when a supported app changes refresh rates.

Lock Down Background Privacy & Data Telemetry

Amazon continuously logs keystrokes, app usage duration, and behavioral profiles to serve targeted advertisements. Turning these off saves background CPU cycles and memory.

Apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube accumulate hundreds of megabytes of cached thumbnail data. When internal storage drops below 1 GB, navigation stutters.
